Summer is Here!
The calendar may not quite yet say that the summer solstice has occurred, but the thermometer says
that summer has arrived. It seems to get hotter, earlier every year. That makes some happy and
others not so much. I am in the 'not so much' category.
I love summer though. It is a time when you have more daylight and time to be doing things outdoors.
It is also a time of getting to see a lot more people that are taking vacations. Living in a vacation area
means they mostly come to us.
We have already been having a good picking summer. This is the first of June as I write this and we
have 5 programs in 8 days. That is a good week. We have also played a new venue or two this year,
and looking forward to several more during the year.
Everyone has been so great, even as times are hard and gas is precious. It is good to have that time to
forget everything and just enjoy the moment. That has always been a great thing for me as I perform.
That time is all about enjoying life, laughter, and music.
We have had the great fortune to see many old friends and meet some new ones. We have also met
some other people we admire. It is a gift to meet these people and find they are just as nice and real as
you imagined they would be.
Our CD is still in the works and will be finished soon (I hope). We are booking new shows all the time
and even planning some short tours a little farther from home. Keep an eye on our calendar and come
see us when you can.
