Spring in the Mountains

There is something special about the transitional seasons of spring and fall to me.  T
hey are times of
moderate temperatures - cool nights and warm afternoons for the most part.  T
hey tend to be the most
comfortable time
s of year overall.  Fall has long been my absolute favorite, with spring a close second.
These days
it seems they are both about the same in my mind.

It is wonderful to watch the natural world awaken after a winter's nap, though the winters are nothing
like they were when I was growing up.  Much less cold and snow - still some, but much less.  I am so
glad that I was able to grow up and live in an area that is more sparsely populated and has large areas
of national forest and farm lands.  Much of the farm land
is now disappearing as more and more people
move in, but there is still
some left.  I am hoping we can find a way to hold on to more of it in the future.

Anyone who knows me already knows that I love the mountains.  There is a mystical quality to them
and they are a part of me.  It is odd that I have some fear of heights along with that love though.  Cliffs
and drop offs such as tall buildings make my knees weak.  Still I love being around mountains.  I like
the views and I like being able to see more land.  It can be cloudy over me and I can look up to see the
sun shining on a mountain in the distance, or vice versa.  I get to watch the seasons change in
progressions from top to bottom and from bottom to top.

I also love the beach.  Growing up we went to Florida several times a year and I loved the beach.  Much
as with cliffs, I am not a great lover of swimming in the ocean.  I don't like the currents pulling me
around.  But I do love the beach and those wonderful sea breezes.  My favorite times on the beach are
early morning and late evening.  I am typically not a big crowd loving person.  I like those quiet times
where I can walk and think - or maybe just walk.

It has been a blessing that I have been able to travel to many parts of the country and world over the
years.  I have found that there are many good people everywhere I have been.  There are great things
to experience in t
his life.  I believe it is good to get out and see different places and meet different
people.  It gives us a greater perspective of the world God has given us.

I even enjoy going to the city all along.  I do not want to live in a city, but they are nice to visit.  There
are those who would live no where else, but I am not one of them.   Just as there are things that are
unique to rural and undeveloped areas, cities offer unique opportunities and experiences.  We need to
find those and enjoy them.

Our music has given us a chance to go to new and different places already.  It has been a great way to
meet new people and see some new places.  We have added some new venues for this year and hope
to add several more before the year is over.  We look forward to seeing some of you there.

Our
new CD is still being recorded.  I would like to say it is finished, but it is not.  Soon though.  Very
soon.

Look for us down the road.  We may be coming near you.  We will be looking for you.
